How She Got Out of Her Rut - A Transformation Story

A student’s story of going from stuck to unstoppable — and the one shift that made it possible.

She Came In Apologizing

When Sarah first showed up to one of our workshops, she apologized three times before she even sat down. Sorry for being late (she was on time). Sorry for taking up space (there was plenty). Sorry for asking a question (that’s literally what we’re here for).

I recognized her immediately. Not because I’d met her before — because I was her, once.

The Rut

Sarah described her life as “fine.” Good job. Nice apartment. Solid friendships. But underneath the fine, something was off. She couldn’t name it. She just knew that every morning when she woke up, she felt a heaviness that didn’t match her circumstances.

“I have no reason to feel this way,” she told me. “I should be grateful.”

Should. The most dangerous word in the English language.

The Shift

Sarah’s breakthrough didn’t come from a dramatic revelation. It came from a simple practice: she started listening to herself. Really listening.

Through our work together, she learned that the heaviness she was feeling wasn’t hers. She was an empath — an incredibly powerful one — and she’d been absorbing the emotions of everyone around her since childhood. What she thought was depression was actually everyone else’s pain sitting in her energy field.

Once she learned to clear it? Everything changed.

What Came After

Within three months, Sarah stopped apologizing for existing. Within six, she left the job that was draining her and started a creative project she’d been sitting on for years. Within a year, she was teaching others what she’d learned.

She didn’t become a different person. She became herself. The version that had been there all along, buried under everyone else’s energy.

This Could Be You

If Sarah’s story sounds like yours — the heaviness, the apologizing, the “fine” that isn’t really fine — I want you to know: you’re not broken. You’re just carrying too much that isn’t yours.

And the path out isn’t harder work or more therapy or another self-help book. It’s learning to clear, to trust, and to come home to the extraordinary being you already are.
